Baltic Triangle Book Club
The Baltic Triangle is hosting a monthly book club at Yamama.
It’s a great way to relax and meet other book lovers for an evening, chatting about your thoughts on the book chosen that month. Bec Waterfield is Baltic Triangle Area’s events director, and says: “I have always wanted to be part of a book club and never found one that suited me. So, when I met Kat from Next Chapter Bibliotherapy it seemed like the perfect opportunity to launch one ourselves… with a little twist. Each book focuses on a particular aspect of mental health, paving the way for honest conversation, shared experiences in a safe space.... over a drink or two.”
The idea behind the Baltic Book Club is to create an open and warm space to explore wellbeing and reflection. But you don’t need to be an avid reader – if you’re interested and have read the book beforehand, come along!
Book clubs are 90 minutes long. February’s inaugural event was a discussion about The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella, described as a ‘funny and thoughtful look at stress and self care’, with the discussion revolving around mental health and what actually matters in life.
Tickets are £5, including a welcome drink (with alcoholic options available too). Keep an eye out for more information on our social channels.
