New Bird Skatepark

The corner of New Bird Street and Jamaica Street, could be THE heart of the Baltic Triangle.

New Bird Skatepark is a DIY concrete skatepark built by local skaters, and the second-oldest community-built skatepark in the country. The park is central to the Liverpool skate scene and features bowled corners, pump bumps, flat banks, hips and grind bars and other terms that most grandmas would baulk at. There are also some open sided bowls for those after a more transition based skate and a lot of wallride potential, too.

The skatepark is also a key part of the local street art scene, constantly evolving, always beautiful and often used for photoshoots, as it looks different with every visit.

If he was a skater boy at this skate park, Avril Lavigne most certainly wouldn’t be saying see you later, boy. She’d be on her way to join in.
