Featured work: Radka Dolinska
It is a special moment in a photographers career when they receive recognition for their work and in 2011 Radka entered her photography work into the Fujifilm Student Awards, where her work entitled 'sound' won the Merit Award. Radka was one of 19 students from colleges and universities throughout the UK to be shortlisted for the coveted title of 'Fujifilm Student Photographer of the year 2011'.
Originally from Slovakia, Radka is now a resident in the UK and is based in Warrington, Cheshire. She is currently studying on the 3rd year of the BA (Hons) in Photography based at St Helens College and validated by Liverpool John Moores University. Her work employs both traditional and digital photography through documentary, reportage and portraiture genres.
Radka is interested in a personal, in depth photographic study of people and places and explores both the body and the poetics of space. Operating in everyday environments, her pictures imbue an uncanny
fairy-tale delicacy to contemporary subjects. Using natural or available light she intends to portray the situation as she experiences it. On graduation, Radka would like to pursue a career as a documentary photographer or work in the media industry for magazines.
